Michelle Russo, the wife of a former mayor, mother of a sitting councilman, a police officer and a retired police, sister of a city finance official, and a school board trustee, cheer leading coach and civic activist in her own right, died on Thursday at age 67. HOBOKEN -- Michelle Russo, a civic activist and matriarch of one of Hoboken's most prominent political families, died on Thursday, her son, Councilman Michael Russo, said on Sunday. She was 67 , and the cause was complications from progressive supranuclear palsy, a neurological degenerative disorder. Comment?

Michele Russo, mother of current 3rd Ward Councilman Michael Russo, wife of former longtime Hoboken Mayor Anthony Russo, and a former chair of the Hoboken Democratic Committee, passed away Thursday morning after being diagnosed with a progressive neurodegenerative disease two years ago. Russo had also served on the Hoboken Board of Education and founded what is today known as Hoboken's Cheer Dynamic. Comment?

According to a press release issued by the Hudson County Prosecutor's Office, two Jersey City residents were arrested and charged on Wednesday Jan. 25 with the murder of Adrian Rivera. Rivera, 18, was shot and killed in his apartment in the Hoboken Housing Authority in the afternoon of Tuesday, Jan. 24. Khalif Geiger, 20, and a 17-year-old juvenile were arrested by detectives from the Hudson County Prosecutor's Office Homicide Unit. Comment?

A 58-year-old man died after he was hit by a truck last week on Newark Avenue, officials said. Gurpal Bola, of Van Wagenen Avenue, died at Jersey City Medical Center on Friday following the Jan. 11 crash near Tonnelle Avenue, city spokeswoman Jennifer Morrill said. Comment?
