    Hilton Head car show raises funds to fight rare cancer

    Kate Delay and fellow members of the Hilton Head Ice Cream Girls -- dressed up to raise funds for the fight against cancer -- looked right at home in cancer survivor Harry Walker's matador red 1957 Chevy Bel Air at the First Annual Hilton Head Cars Against Cancer event at South Island Square. The car show was held to support organizations that raise awareness about and provide treatment services for the fight against cancer, especially liposarcoma.

    Still mourning their son, Arrieta family expands can...

    Two months after losing their beloved 10-year-old son to leukemia, the Arrieta family is continuing to fight against children's cancer. The Hilton Head Island family announced on Alex "Smiles" Facebook page Monday that they are expanding Lambs for Life - Alex Arrieta's legacy foundation that advocates for children with cancer.

    Debbie Quirin, of Beaufort, explains that she saw several people out on the sandbar well after 5 p.m. on Tuesday, June 21, 2016, just off of the beach near the Hunting Island State Park campground. Five people reportedly disappeared while on the sandbar on Tuesday night, but the search was suspended around midnight on Wednesday morning after the report was determined to be false.
