    Despite temperatures that soared into the upper 80s, last weekend's 24-hour walkathon fundraiser to fight cancer was a roaring success, according to one of Relay For Life of Fremont's organizers. In Saturday's opening ceremony at California School for the Deaf, cancer survivors released doves and led a "survivors lap" wearing purple T-shirts.
