    'During the encounter, the accused brandished a hand...

    On October 5 at 11:03PM, officers responded to the Liberty service station located at 3511 James Madison Hwy in Haymarket to investigate a shooting. The investigation revealed that the victims, a 55-year-old man and a 53-year-old woman both of Berrymill, reported to police that they were retrieving property from their vehicle which they had towed to the service station earlier that week.

    Police this afternoon identified the 15-year-old boy who was shot and killed by an officer last week and have released more details about the circumstances surrounding his death.

    ATV crash victim taken to hospital, dies

    On September 17 at 5:36PM, investigators from the Crash Investigation Unit responded to the 12800 block of Dominique Estates Ln in Catharpin to investigate a crash involving an ATV. The investigation revealed that the victim was riding a 2004 Suzuki Vinson 500 when he lost control causing the ATV to overturn.

    Authorities search for driver who struck 11-year-old...

    An 11-year-old boy is recovering after he was struck by a truck while riding his bicycle outside his Stafford County home. On Saturday, September 16, 2017, just after 3:00 p.m. deputies from the Stafford Sheriff's Office were dispatched to the England Run North apartment complex in reference to a pedestrian struck call.

    Shelter out of space after influx of animals rescued...

    The shelter is out of space and cannot accept any new animals from owners who can no longer care for them. None of the sick animals were admitted to the Prince William shelter, said Perok.

    Police chief to speak Dale City community tonight

    It's part of a regular series of engagements called a "Conversation with the Chief" where residents are invited to ask Barnard about any topics relating to public safety in Prince William County. Tonight's meeting will be held at Dale City Elementary School at 7 p.m. Previous "Conversation with the Chief" meetings were held at the Dr. AJ Ferlazzo Building this past summer and Old Bridge Road Elementary School back in April.

    Supervisors to decide on $14 million animal shelter ...

    That is what the county's Board of Supervisors must decide on Tuesday night when they decide which one of four new animals shelters will replace, or improve the existing 45-year-old facility located next to a landfill. The favored choice is known as Option C, a new $14.2 million facility that would replace the existing structure, and come with complete with an pet adoption lobby, a full veterinarian space, isolation rooms for sick animals, animal control offices, a community room, 156 double-sided kennels for cats, and 56 double-sided kennels for dogs.
