    Police said Tuesday that they have identified "persons of interest" in the fatal shooting of a man and a woman in the South End of the city Monday night. Joshua Cortez, 22, of Hartford and Alysha Ocasio, 23, of Newington, were found near the intersection of Cowles Street and Campfield Avenue about 10:30 p.m., police said.

    A Connecticut family has filed a lawsuit against American Airlines, Columbia Metropolitan Airport, and others after lightning struck and killed an airline passenger last summer. On June 27, 2015, a flight from Hartford, Conn., to Charlotte carrying 75 passengers was diverted to Columbia because of bad weather, but as the US Airways flight unloaded onto the tarmac, 52-year-old Sonya Dockett was struck by lightning.
