    Joan was born March 31, 1935 in Flint to John and Mary Virginia DeVoss and graduated from Lake City High School. Joan graduated from St. Lawrence Lansing Hospital, School of Nursing with her registered nurse degree and served as a Lieutenant Colonel in the US Army during the Vietnam War.

    Caryl Louise Maniscalco of St. Helena, California, passed away peacefully in her sleep at the home of her first son, David Boies, overlooking the Swan River in Big Fork, Montana on Sunday, September 9. Caryl was 76 years old. While her loss was sudden, Caryl died of natural causes and left this earth with grace and dignity.

    Lynyrd Skynyrd guitarist Ed King died Wednesday at his home in Nashville at the age of 68. His death was announced Thursday morning on his Facebook page. He was 68. Along with his Skynryd bandmates a member of the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame, King numbered among his many musical high points co-writing and playing lead guitar on the classic Southern rock classic, "Sweet Home Alabama."

    Ed King, a former member of Southern rock band Lynyrd Skynyrd, has died at age 68. His family confirmed the guitarist's passing on Thursday , writing in a Facebook post , "It is with great sorrow we announce the passing of Ed King who died at his home in Nashville, Tennessee on August 22nd, 2018. We thank his many friend and fans for their love and support of Ed during his life and career."
