    Donations : The organization Permanent Butterfly Memorial Monument is building a Holocaust Memorial in Grand Park in Myrtle Beach. The memorial is being built in memory of all the children who died in the Holocaust and their families and in honor of the Holocaust survivors, the rescuers, and the liberators.

    I first read the name Renty Tucker in Charles Joyner's "Down by the Riverside." Professor Joyner's work is considered the most comprehensive research ever published on the slave community of the Waccamaw Neck rice culture that flourished during the 19th century in Georgetown County.

    Winifred “Wini” James Long Harmon, 66, passed away on Friday, June 12, 2015 at Tidelands Community Hospice House.Born on October 22, 1948, in Marion, she was the daughter of the late Rupert Fulton James and the late Virginia Collins James. Mrs. Harmon attended Wayne United Methodist Church where she played the piano and formerly attended Trinity United Methodist Church where she served as the church pianist.
