    Patty J. Phelp, 83, of George West, died Wednesday, Oct. 17, 2018, at her home in George West following an extended illness. Mrs. Phelp was born Jan. 22, 1935, in Haskell to Walter Noah and Maude Mae Viney.

    Marcos Lasos

    On October 6, 2018 Marcos Lasos won his long, courageous battle with cancer, and went home to live with his Savior, Jesus Christ. Marcos died at his Ennis residence, with his loving wife and family by his side, at the age of 58. Marcos was born in George West, TX on June 18, 1960, to Ramona Rodriguez.

    Stirring up memories creates more interest in past

    All are welcome to come by the Grace Armantrout Museum and see what they have to offer in the way of history. The museum is open to the public Wednesday-Friday from 1 to 5 p.m. and Saturday from noon to 4 p.m. It is located 1/2 mile south of George West on Highway 281 South.
