Brookshire, 15, died late Sunday at the Methodist Hospitals Northlake campus after emergency room personnel worked almost two hours to save her. She had been shot about 9:35 p.m. Sunday as she stepped out of the back seat of her boyfriend's car at 7th Avenue and Adams Street, police said. Comment?

Police received an anonymous call at 7:19 p.m. Tuesday about a suspicious person inside an abandoned building in the 700 block of East 7th Avenue in Gary, Ind., according to a statement from Gary police.
