    MTV's Nitro Circus star Erik Roner died Monday in a tragic skydiving accident, The Los Angeles Times reports. He was 39. The extreme athlete was performing as part of a team at a charity golf tournament in Lake Tahoe, Calif., when he hit a tree and became entangled while attempting to land, the Placer County Sheriff's Office said.

    " A judge was expected to decide when the first of six Baltimore officers charged in the death of Freddie Gray, a black man who died after suffering injuries in police custody, will go to trial. Judge Barry Williams has called a scheduling conference Tuesday afternoon to determine when and in what order the officers, who face charges ranging from second-degree assault to second-degree "depraved-heart" murder, will be tried.

    " Community religious leaders gathered Sunday to remember 24-year-old reporter Alison Parker and 27-year-old cameraman Adam Ward, the two television journalists who were shot and killed while working last week. The interfaith service at the Jefferson Center in Roanoke was filled with somber prayers across several religions, along with music from the Roanoke Symphony Orchestra and others.
