    Mary Jean DeLozier

    Mary Jean DeLozier, Cookeville historian and TTU professor emeritus, died on Friday, Jan. 27, 2017, at the age of 90. After 60 years as a Cookevillean, she and her husband, Leon, moved to Fresno, Calif., in May 2014 to be closer to their children and grandchildren. She was proceeded in death by her parents, Ellie Gibson Montgomery and CephusAbram Montgomery; and her husband, Leon, who died on New Year's Day 2015, at the age of 94. She is survived by her children, Thomas Montgomery DeLozier of Sebastopol, Calif., and Celia Dawn DeLozier of Fresno, Calif.; as well as five grandchildren, Elizabeth, Sandy, Justine, Serge and Raphael.

    Founder of Ray Fisher Pharmacy dies

    Ray Fisher was Fresno's neighborhood pharmacist who built his own store and stayed open late and on holidays, often running it himself, to serve the community. He was the man behind Ray Fisher Pharmacy which opened in 1956 on Blackstone Avenue, north of Gettysburg, and which still bears his name more than two decades after he sold it to a pharmacist who once worked for him.
