Because the case was filed with the special circumstances of multiple murder, the Fresno County District Attorney's Office can seek the death penalty against Christopher Lenore Sanders, whose smooth skin against a red jail uniform emphasized his youth during a one-and-a-half hour preliminary hearing Tuesday.

    An elderly man who was driving with his wife through a tricky intersection died Saturday afternoon after his vehicle was hit by a Fed-Ex truck. California Highway Patrol spokesman Victor Taylor said a 64-year-old man was taken from the crash site at Golden State Boulevard and American Avenue to Community Regional Medical Center, where he later died.

    Harley rider rear-ends car, dies on Highway 180

    The rider of a Harley-Davidson motorcycle died Sunday afternoon when he slammed into the back of Honda on Highway 180 east of Fresno, the California Highway Patrol reported. The crash took place about 4 p.m. as the 33-year-old Sanger rider was eastbound in 180 approaching McCall Avenue, where Efrain Cervantes, 42, of Reedley was stopped for a red light at McCall Avenue in a 2009 Civic.

    Eddie Ricky Nealy, whom a prosecutor called one of the most dangerous men in Fresno County's history, was sentenced Friday to California's death row for the 1985 rape and killing of Fresno teen Jody Lynn Wolf. Judge Arlan Harrell's voice cracked and he nearly cried in Fresno County Superior Court when he announced Nealy's death sentence.
