Arlington Metals founder Theodore J. Orlowski died Jan. 21 at age 82. The Chicago native began his career in manufacturing before striking out on his own in 1971. In his first venture, he rented space in Skokie, Ill., to run a single 52-inch slitter. Comment?

Franklin Park police said they have found nothing suspicious thus far in their investigation after a 66-year-old woman died Friday from injuries suffered after she was struck by a vehicle as she was crossing on West Grand Avenue. The woman, Urszula Zielinska of Franklin Park, was crossing from the north side to the south side of the street at 5:45 p.m. in the 9100 block of West Grand Avenue when she was struck by an older model Nissan Xterra driven by a 60-year-old driver from River Grove, Witz said. Geraldine L. Bartels , age 73, of Minocqua, formally of Chicago, passed away unexpectedly at Howard Young Medical Center on Monday, Jan. 2, 2017. She is survived by beloved husband of 54 years, George J. Bartels, daughter Kristin M. Ralli of Blaine, Minn.; son Lucas J. Bartels of Chicago; and sister Sandi Gatz of Elmwood Park, Ill.; six grandchildren: Charese, Jeremiah, , Michelle, Joey, Mackenzie, Madox, and great-granddaughter Marissa. Comment?
