    Former Colts, Ravens coach Ted Marchibroda dies at 84

    Marchibroda coached the Colts twice - in Baltimore from 1975-79 and in Indianapolis from 1992-95. He led the Colts to the playoffs three times in Baltimore and once in Indianapolis before returning to Baltimore as the Ravens' first head coach.

    Former Colts, Ravens Coach Marchibroda Dies

    Ted Marchbiroda, who coached the Baltimore Colts to several division titles in the mid-1970's, and then became the Baltimore Ravens first head coach after the team arrived from Cleveland in 1996 has died at the age of 84. The Baltimore Colts hired Ted Marchibroda in 1975, and he turned around a team that had finished the previous year 2-12. The 1975 Colts team lost in the first round of the playoffs to the Pittsburgh Steelers, who would go onto win Super Bowl X. Marchibroda's Colts would make the playoffs in 1976 and 1977, losing in the first round to the Steelers in 1976, and the John Madden coached Raiders in 1997.

    Former Colts, Ravens coach Ted Marchibroda dies

    Ted Marchibroda, former head coach of the Baltimore Colts and the first head coach in Baltimore Ravens history, died Saturday morning at his home in Virginia. He was 84. Marchibroda spent 12 seasons as an NFL head coach, including time with the Baltimore Colts , Indianapolis Colts and Baltimore Ravens .

    Ted Marchibroda, coach of Colts, Ravens, dead at 84

    Ted Marchibroda, the only man to be head coach of both NFL franchises in Baltimore, the Colts and Ravens , died Saturday at 84. Marchibroda was the first Ravens' head coach in 1996 when an NFL team returned to the city and went 14-31-1 in the first three seasons before being replaced by Brian Billick . Marchibroda coached the Baltimore Colts from 1975-79, leading them to the playoffs in his first three years.
