    Laveda Thomas

    Laveda Thomas, age 91, of Seguin, passed away November 16. A celebration of her life will be held at the Franklin Funeral Home in Floresville at 11:00am.on November 27. Laveda was preceded in death by husband, John Thomas, a son, Ronnie Thomas,and a new born baby. Her mother Eva Barfield Ready, and father, Deere Barfield, and a brother, Talmadge Barfield.

    3 Generations Of The Same Family Mourned At Funeral ...

    Three generations of the Holcombe family lost their lives in the mass shooting at First Baptist Church on Nov. 5. The eight family members ranged widely in age - from an 18-month-old child to the church's 60-year-old associate pastor. One of the victims was also pregnant.

    Three thousand mourners attended the Wednesday funeral for eight members of the Holcombe family killed in the Sutherland Springs church shooting. The crowd of thousands mourned together for the fallen family members at an events center in Floresville, Texas before a smaller crowd proceeded to a graveside service where they gathered around the mutli-colored coffins and released light blue and pink balloons in their honor, according to the Associated Press .

    Three thousand people mourned eight members of a family who were among the more than two dozen killed in a shooting at a small Texas church Wednesday before the funeral procession headed to a cemetery near the site of the massacre. Surrounding the multicolored caskets, mourners released light pink and blue balloons at a graveside service for the Holcombe family in rural Wilson County.

    A joint funeral was held today for the nine members of the same family who were killed in the deadly church shooting in Sutherland Springs, Texas this month. Three generations of the Holcombe family were among the 26 people killed at the First Baptist Church of Sutherland Springs on Nov. 5, one of the deadliest mass shootings in modern U.S. history.

    The surviving members of the the congregation in Sutherland Springs will come together for a Sunday service this weekend at the community, the first service since the mass shooting at their church. Great-grandparents Joe and Clarissa Holcombe lost three-generations of family members in just minutes, when eight in the Holcombe family were shot and killed.
