The National Transportation Safety Board has released a preliminary report, focusing on loss of engine power as the possible cause of the plane crash in which a pilot died May 26. William Gordon, an experienced pilot, died when the World War II era plane he flew sank into the Hudson River on May 27 during a photo shoot for the American Airpower Museum on Long Island. The NTSB in a preliminary report issued June 14 said that Gordon ditched the vintage Republic P-47D Thunderbolt in the Hudson River "following a reported loss of engine power." Comment?
