    Charles Jack Austra

    A Korean War Air Force veteran, he had been a lifetime member of East Alton American Legion Post 794 for 60 years and Past Governor of Wood River Moose Lodge #1349. Surviving also are sons, Deon Robinson of San Antonio, TX, Adam Robinson of Centralia, Tracy Robinson of Wood River, Mike Austra of Roxana; daughters, Kim Payne of Bethalto, Donna Sansone of Bunker Hill; 14 grandchildren; 27 great grandchildren; and several great-great grandchildren; sister, Rosalie Rock of wood River; niece, Cynthia Hof; and nephew, Jim Rock.

    Charles E. 'Charlie' Tweedy

    A Korean War navy veteran, serving on the USS Juneau, he co-owned "Charlie's Drive-In" in Wood River and had worked for Standard Oil, a route driver for Taystee Bread and Mrs. Allison's Cookies, and as an attendant for Marks Mortuary. Charlie was a 2-time state qualifier in the half-mile for East Alton-Wood River High School; an avid St. Louis Cardinal Baseball fan; and NCAA basketball, especially the Indiana Hoosiers, coached by Bobby Knight.

    Ruth was born on December 26, 1920, the first child of Albert G. and Elfleda D. Unterbrink in East Alton, IL, where she lived her entire life until moving to Villa Rose Senior Living Community in Bethalto with her sister, Joyce Hutchens, 2 1/2 years ago. Ruth was preceded in death by her parents; her first husband, Harry Hazen; her second husband, Gilbert Whitten, from whom she was divorced; her third husband, Raymond Volz; her sister and brother-in-law, Esther and Bruce Hazen; her brother, Milton Unterbrink; her brother-in-law, Armond "Hutch" Hutchens; a son, David Whitten; nieces, Susan Hutchens and Leigh Ann Unterbrink; a grandson, Jeff Whitten; and two nephews, Greg and Gary Hazen.
