    Seacoast supporter of veterans causes dies at 94

    Dover and Seacoast residents lost a great supporter of the cause of veterans with the passing of James Parcells, who died July 16 at the age of 94. Parcells was a native of Dover and resident of Somersworth. A Warrant Officer in the U.S. Army, Parcells, born in 1922, served his country for 26 years, seeing action in World War ll and the Vietnam War.

    Richard E. O'Brien, vet, mechanic, of Malden

    Mr. O'Brien is survived by his wife of 51 years, Diane ; a son, Robert of Peabody; two daughters, Diane Goodwin of Malden and Dawn Tomlinson of Dover, N.H.; seven grandchildren, two great-granddaughters and many nieces and nephews.

    New Dover playground officially opened

    The playground is at Henry Law Park, adjacent the Children's Museum of New Hampshire. Spitting rain forced the dedication ceremony inside the museum, while many children chose to stay outside and play.

    Teresa Wallace

    Mrs. Teresa D. Wallace of Stafford passed away in her sleep on Monday, June 19, 2017 due to complications from a fall. She was 88. Mrs. Wallace was born on April 13, 1929 in Dover, N.H. to parents Florida and Albert Abbott.

    Two Sundays ago, seventh-grader Jorgia Shick shaved her head at One Mission's Buzz Off for Kids with Cancer fundraiser at Gillette Stadium. Jorgia, 12, is a member of Team Danika, a fundraising team for the pediatric cancer charity named for her younger sister, who died in 2013.

    Learn how to become a house detective Posted at

    For those who live in older homes, do you ever wonder about the history of it and who lived there before you? Cathy Beaudoin, director of Dover Public Library, has helped many who have had that house itch to learn more. On Monday night at the library, she will dispense tips of the trade in her lecture, “Tracing the history of your home: Learn how!” and educate attendees on the basics of becoming a house detective.
