    Stan Dixon: A man of the community

    Stan Dixon, a native son of Ferndale who at age 28 became the city's youngest council member before serving 16 years as mayor, 12 years as 1st District Humboldt County supervisor, and more than 14 years on the state forestry board, died at age 78 on Saturday. “Up until I was elected , younger people had never had much voice in Ferndale government.

    Jean (Regina) Williams

    Our loving mother and grandmother, Jean Williams of Dixon passed away on Jan. 21, 2017, at the age of 79. Jean was born in Karlsruhe, N.D., in 1937, where she was raised with her 14 brothers and sisters. At 17 years of age, upon high school graduation, she boarded a bus and moved to Sacramento.

    Margernell R. Williams

    Margernell, or "Marge," as she was known by family and friends, was born Jan. 10, 1931, in Lake Charles, Louisiana, to Hilliard and Mahalia Dixon. She attended public schools in Lake Charles, Louisiana, and after graduating high school, went on to matriculate at Southern University in Baton Rouge, Louisiana.
