    The veteran corrections officer's face didn't flinch behind a thick, red beard and square jaw, but his eyes revealed sorrow as he spoke the name of his colleague, Luzerne County Corrections Officer Kristopher Moules, who died last week following a tussle with an inmate. Lt. John Domaguer, also a corrections officer at Luzerne County Correctional Facility, placed a single rose on a chair, Moules' photo displayed on top of it at Sunday's memorial for fallen police and corrections officers on Lackawanna County Courthouse Square downtown.

    Police investigating death of child left in car in F...

    Officials are investigating the death of a child who Dallas Fire-Rescue officials said was left in a vehicle during triple-digit heat in Far East Dallas on Sunday afternoon. Dallas Fire-Rescue responded to a call about 4 p.m. in the 11000 block of Shiloh Road, near LBJ Freeway, and found a 4-year-old child inside a vehicle, according to KXAS-TV .

    It's traditional to wear black when you are mourning, and that's exactly what Washington County Sheriff's deputies and Beaverton Police officers are doing this week. Officers are wearing black mourning bands across their badges to show solidarity with the Dallas, Texas Police Department, where five officers died and eight others were wounded in a shooting targeted at cops.
