    Mitchell/Stinson, Tiger/Buc alumni games canceled

    The Nathan Mitchell/William "Billy" Stinson Jr. Memorial Alumni Basketball Games were held at Oceanside Middle School the past three years, always the day before Thanksgiving. "I was very saddened when the decision was made to no longer hold the Nathan Mitchell and Billy Stinson alumni games," said Rachel Burns, who, along with others, helped coordinate the annual events.

    Lois Edith Delano "Lola" Faulkingham, died peacefully at the Knox Center with her loving family at her side Sunday, Oct. 28, 2018. She was born in Rockland to Lester and Evelyn Delano of Cushing.

    Born in Rockland Feb. 23, 1932, she was the daughter of Robert Gordon and Arlene Smith Spaulding. She attended schools in Stonington and Thomaston, graduating with honors from Thomaston High School in 1950.

    Cherie Ann Pratt Yattaw, 69, returned to her heavenly home Oct. 2, 2018, to take her place among the angels. Born in Rockland, Aug. 25, 1949, Cherie was the daughter of Harold and Marguerite Stairs Pratt.

    Mark Malcolm Daggett was born May 18, 1959, to Wesley and Phyllis Daggett at the Knox Hospital in Rockland. He may have met his future wife, Dianne, on this auspicious day, as Dianne's mother left the Knox Hospital with little Dianne on the day that Mark was born.
