    Joe Brister, husband of St. Tammany parish president...

    Joe Brister, left, and St. Tammany Parish President Pat Brister at the inaugural reception for Pat Brister at the Northshore Harbor Center on Friday Jan. 13, 2012 Joseph Brister Jr., a retired businessman and husband of St. Tammany Parish President Pat Brister , died Thursday in Covington after a long illness. He was 84. The parish government sent out a brief email Friday morning to local officials notifying them of Mr. Brister's death.

    Terry Lee Amo

    Terry Lee Amo age 61 of Pasadena, TX and formally of Ogdensburg passed away at his home after a short illness, with his loving family by his side. He is survived by his wife Vanessa Amo of Pasadena, TX; a daughter Shelia Suavez of Covington, LA; two sons Terrance & Michael Amo both of Pasadena, TX; five grandchildren; his parents Richard Amo of Ogdensburg; siblings Kimberly Amo and Ricky Amo also of Ogdensburg, Debra Amo of Saranac Lake, NY, Kenneth Amo of Great Falls, MT; niece Courtney Barker, nephew's Timothy, Andrew, Zack & Jacob Amo: special aunts & uncles Harry Wells of Ogdensburg and Richard Dalton of Heuvelton along with many cousins and friends.

    Louisiana man dies in Keys scooter crash

    A Louisiana man died Wednesday night when his rental scooter crashed into a car at White and United streets in Key West, city police say. Around 7:30 p.m., Louis Lee Bayhi III, 41, was traveling southbound on White, passing cars on the right, police spokeswoman Alyson Crean said.
