    Obituary: William 'Bill' Bowden

    Bill is survived by his wife Marilyn of Cottonwood; his daughters, Martha Robertson of Tempe, AZ and Karen Young of Glade Valley, NC; his brother Stanley Bowden of Toccoa, GA; five grandchildren and four great-grandchildren. A memorial service will be held for Bill at the Cottonwood Village Auditorium, located at 201 E. Mingus Ave. in Cottonwood, at 1 p.m. on Friday, June 26, 2015.

    Possible drug overdose cause of woman's drowning

    Sue Tone Special to the Courier The Yavapai County Sheriff's Office released information yesterday that the Medical Examiner has made a preliminary finding of a drug overdose and apparent drowning as the cause of death for Prescott Valley resident Jennifer Holgate, 23. There is no evidence otherwise of foul play, but the investigation remains open, said Dwight D'Evelyn, YCSO media coordinator in a press release yesterday evening. Holgate's body was found in a Cottonwood irrigation canal this past Thursday, June 11, two days after her release from the Camp Verde Detention Center.
