    LaNorma Fay Shirey, 94, of Yorba Linda, Calif., formerly of Columbiana and Green Township, died July 25, 2018 at Meridian Assisted Living. She worked at the Lockheed Aircraft Plant in Burbank, Calif., during World War II and was involved with the assembly of the P-38.

    Mary C. Skinner of Imperial Drive in East Liverpool passed away Sunday, July 29, 2018 at her home surrounded by her loving family while under hospice care following a brief illness. She was 73. A member of the East Liverpool High School Class of 1962, she continued her education and earned her certification in Cosmetology.

Johnson, 81, of Georgetown , Pa., died peacefully Wednesday afternoon, July 25, 2018, at Windsor House at St. Mary's Alzheimer's Center, Columbiana, Ohio, with his wife and daughters at his side. Born Oct. 4, 1936, in Shippingport, Pa., a son of the late Thomas Frank and Catherine Johnson, he worked as an operating engineer with Union Local 66 in the construction industry.

    Richard J. Janci, 81, of Columbiana, passed away Thursday morning, June 28, 2018, at Cleveland Clinic, surrounded by his family. A 1954 Woodrow Wilson High School graduate, Richard worked for many years as a grocery store manager at many local grocery stores, including Penn's Sparkle Market and Cable Valu King, both in East Liverpool.

    Firestone descendants due for a visit to Columbiana

    The July 6 visit coincides with the city's recognition that this year marks the 150th anniversary of Firestone's birth. The visit will also coincide with a formal groundbreaking ceremony for the long-awaited Mirror Lake project spearheaded by the Columbiana Restoration and Beautification Committee that was largely funded through a private donation from R&B chairwoman Pat Tingle.
