    Daughter of legendary soul singer James Brown dies

According to a news release from the James Brown Family Foundation, Venisha Brown died Wednesday at AU Health Medical Center in Augusta, Ga., due to complications from pneumonia.

    By JEFFREY COLLINS, Associated Press COLUMBIA, S.C. - Two South Carolina funeral home workers have been indicted after authorities say they left a body to rot in an unrefrigerated room surrounded by air-fresheners for nearly three years because the woman's family owed them money. Lawrence Robert Meadows and Roderick Mitchell Cummings, both 40, were charged Friday by a state grand jury with desecration of human remains.

    David Mitchell, veteran voice of - Piano Jazz,' dies...

    David A. Mitchell, engineer and announcer for the NPR show Marian McPartland's Piano Jazz for more than 25 years, died Aug. 15 in Columbia, S.C. He was 72. In a tribute on the program's Facebook page , colleagues recalled him as a "meticulous mastering engineer" with a "mellifluous announcing voice" that was "familiar to millions of listeners over the years." His colleagues reported that at Mitchell's memorial service Sunday, "we listened to his beautiful bass voice narrate the credits at the end of his own service, concluding with 'This is David Mitchell, for NPR.'
