    More than a dozen county coroners in South Carolina now paint white crosses on the roads where people died in car wrecks, an action criticized by some say the image violates the separation of church and state. The State in Columbia reports that Lexington County Coroner Margaret Fisher recently began painting the crosses.

    A heartbroken relative of a 20-year-old man who was fatally shot outside a Brooklyn bodega said Sunday that he was a passionate musician who dreamed of going to college. Donovan Frazier had purchased a ginger ale and stepped out of Franklin Finest Deli on Franklin Ave. in Crown Heights about 4:20 a.m. on Saturday when an unknown gunman sprayed him with bullets.

    COLUMBIA, SC - An 81-year-old Richland County man trying to stop two men from stealing television sets from a Midlands department store was killed last Tuesday. The two shoplifters will now be held accountable for his death after they shoved him violently to the ground, according to Richland County Sheriff Leon Lott.
