    A Fort Carson soldier has died after collapsing Monday morning at the end of a run that was part of routine physical fitness training, the base says. The soldier was training on the Mountain Post when he collapsed about 7:30 a.m. He was taken to Memorial Hospital in Colorado Springs, where he was pronounced dead about an hour later.

    The Conway Fire Department Pipes and Drums band is raising money to play and attend the national memorial service in Colorado as they watch one of Conway's fallen be forever remembered and etched into the memorial wall. Wayne Hartness, 52, of Wooster, died of cancer in September 2015 after serving the CFD for 23 years as an engineer.

He was 79. Armstrong served two terms in the U.S. Senate after defeating Floyd Haskell in 1978.
