    Fort Carson soldier dies after collapsing at the end...

    A Fort Carson soldier has died after collapsing Monday morning at the end of a run that was part of routine physical fitness training, the base says. The soldier was training on the Mountain Post when he collapsed about 7:30 a.m. He was taken to Memorial Hospital in Colorado Springs, where he was pronounced dead about an hour later.

    A Fort Carson soldier who collapsed during physical training Monday morning has died, the post said in a news release. Post officials said the soldier was engaged in morning fitness training before the 7:30 a.m. incident.

    Authorities say four soldiers have turned themselves in after breaking into a Colorado Springs apartment and threatening someone with a gun. The Colorado Springs Gazette reports that police say the Fort Carson soldiers were arrested on suspicion of burglary, menacing and child abuse.

    National memorial honors Conway firefighter

    The Conway Fire Department Pipes and Drums band is raising money to play and attend the national memorial service in Colorado as they watch one of Conway's fallen be forever remembered and etched into the memorial wall. Wayne Hartness, 52, of Wooster, died of cancer in September 2015 after serving the CFD for 23 years as an engineer.

    Bill Armstrong, a former U.S. senator, congressman, owner of the defunct Colorado Springs Sun daily newspaper, and president of Colorado Christian University in Lakewood, died Tuesday, after a five-year struggle with cancer. He was 79. Armstrong served two terms in the U.S. Senate after defeating Floyd Haskell in 1978.
