    Born in 1854, and preceded in death by its parents, the Whigs and the Free-Soilers, the Republican Party had made its name on a platform of self-reliance, family values, small government and social and political conservatism. Throughout most of its life until the middle of the 20th century, the party had enjoyed good health, but had recently begun to shift increasingly toward the right.

She will be sadly missed by her family and is survived by two sons, Gary and Ricky Jacobs; four daughters, Cynthia Breeden, Carolyn Jacobs and fiance, Barry Walls, Lisa Rogers and husband, Robert, and Tracy Hamilton and husband, Brian; 13 grandchildren; 14 great-grandchildren; one sister, Jenny Mae Story, of Cleveland, Ohio; special nephew, Robert Breeden and friend, Teresa Hayes; and her dog, Maggie.

Mrs. Loach was a graduate of Allegheny College and taught in the New Kensington, Pa., school district before relocating to Vienna with her husband Jim, where she raised her family and volunteered with many local organizations, including the Good Samaritan Center.

    Yorkville truck driver dies in crash on I-88 in Nape...

    A man from Yorkville died Monday when the truck he was driving crashed into another truck after traffic had come to a stop on Interstate 88 in Naperville , Illinois State Police said. Daniel Garcia, 25, was driving west on in the far right lane of I-88 when traffic slowed down and then came to a stop at milepost 127.5 near Naperville Road, according to a news release from state police.
