    Vola "Grandma Jean" Walker

    James and Jean were agricultural workers who chased the harvests from Arkansas to the Pacific Northwest, ultimately making their home in Washington State. After retirement, Jean loved nothing more than walking through the orchard, admiring springtime's blooms or sizing up the harvest.

    He grew up in the foothills of the Ozark mountains, picking tomatoes and cucumbers in the summer months and milking cows before school each day. In his free time, he played baseball and basketball, and explored those same foothills with his siblings and childhood friends.
