    Phyllis R. Mrofchak

    Phyllis R. Mrofchak passed away peacefully on Oct. 28, 2017, with her family by her side, at the Castle Ridge Nursing home in Eden Prairie. On Aug. 6, 1955, she was united in marriage with Joseph Mrofchak and was able to celebrate 60 years of marriage before his death in 2015.

    As a lover of history, Jules Smith also was fascinated with the new, playing a key role in the founding of a first-of-its-kind community in the western Twin Cities. Julius C. "Jules" Smith was born in Minneapolis in 1930 and died at his home in Chaska 88 years later, just before dinner on a Saturday night, from natural causes related to his heart.

    Haugen, Andie Roy

    Andie Roy Haugen Andie Roy Haugen, of Bemidji, MN and formerly of McHenry, IL, suddenly passed away on Tuesday, July 17, 2018, age of 77. Andie truly will be missed by his wife of 51 years, Kathy and their children, Andrea Kujava and Erica Ellicson; four grandsons, Hunter and Tristan Kujava and Kaiden and Kolton Ellicson; his sisters, Karen Johnson and Linda Blessing. Andie was preceded in death by his parents, Roy and Norma Haugen; brother-in-law, Ralph Johnson; and granddaughter, Nevaeh Ellicson.

    Sure, the medical technology executive helped lead Chaska-based Lake Region Medical, a multimillion-dollar company with close to 2,000 employees, before retiring three years ago. But he was just as content repairing the boiler or the outdoor sprinkler system at St. Therese Catholic Church in Deephaven, where he was a lifelong member.
