    Surviving with his wife, Alicia Howard, are a son, Clarence "Clay" Howard III of Crothersville; daughter, Amy Howard of Butlerville; mother, Delphie Howard of Butlerville; brothers, Lloyd Howard and Elbert "Ebb" Howard, both of North Vernon; sister, Juanita Stevens of Butlerville; and four grandchildren. A funeral service for Mr. Howard will be conducted at 10 a.m. on Wednesday at the Dove-Sharp & Rudicel Funeral Home and Cremation Services in North Vernon with the Rev.

    Born April 15, 1966, in Indianapolis, he was the son of Delphie White Howard, who survives in Butlerville, and Clarence Howard Sr., who preceded him in death. On Nov. 22, 1986, in Indianapolis, he married Alicia Vandergriff, who survives.

    Carter is survived by his parents, Joshua Collett of Butlerville and Ashley Collett of Hanover; grandparents, Michelle Rutherford, Kenneth Collett, both of Butlerville, Dennis Miller of Madison and Lucy Fording of Austin; great-grandparents, Jamie and Lois Hatton of Butlerville and Cammie Mitchell of Salyersville, Kentucky. He was preceded in death by his brother, Carson Collett; and great-grandparents, Jerry Miller, Janet Morningstar Speer and Raymond Mitchell.

    Brothers died in house fire late Thursday night in B...

    The fire was reported at 11:16 p.m. at a house at 1375 N. County Road 615E in Campbell Township, said Jennings County Sheriff's Officer Bryan Katterhenry, sheriff's department spokesman. Jennings County Deputy Coroner Alden Rudicel identified the children as Carson Collett, 4, and his brother, Carter Collett, 3. Autopsies were being conducted Friday afternoon and their cause of death is not yet available, Rudicel said.

Survivors include his caregiver, Judy Chilton of Madison; case manager, Marie Aguayo; and regional manager, Jeff Combest and the rest of the Archer Home Services team.
