    PETA wants Maine officials to build a gravestone in memory of thousands of lobsters who died in a truck crash 7,000 pounds of live lobsters were destroyed and it's believed at least 4,500 lobsters died in a crash earlier this month in Maine PETA says: 'A memorial to the mass expiration of all those crustaceans would 'remind everyone that the best way to prevent such tragedies is to go vegan.' The request has been denied by the Maine Dept.

    Animal rights group People for the Ethical Treatment of Animals wants to erect a large tombstone to commemorate 4,500 lobsters killed in a truck crash. They asked Maine Officals for permission to build the large gray monument in Brunswick where an estimated 7,000lbs of lobster died after the truck the creatures were traveling in toppled last week.

    PETA asks for permission to honor dead lobsters with...

    Norfolk-based animal rights group People for the Ethical Treatment of Animals asked officials for permission to erect a 5-foot tombstone to mark the site of an August truck crash that spewed lobsters into a Maine road. PETA said it wanted to memorialize the "countless sensitive crustaceans" that were killed during the Aug. 22 crash in Brunswick, Maine , according to a Wednesday release from the group.

    Dead Poet's Society founder laid to rest in Maine

    The family of Walter Skold, founder of the Dead Poets Society of America, dance and sing around his grave at the Pine Grove Cemetery in Brunswick on Monday. Skold died of a heart attack at the age of 57 in January 2018, little more than a month after enlisting the son of novelist John Updike to carve a unique grave marker.

    PETA calls for 5-foot memorial to lobsters that died...

    PETA says the memorial would honor the lobsters and remind truck drivers of the importance of their cargo as well as remind people not to eat lobsters or other animals. BRUNSWICK, ME When a truck carrying nearly 70 crates of lobsters rolled over, several of the creatures lost their lives, so People for the Ethical Treatment of Animals wants to build a tombstone to honor them.
