    Joyce Catherine Moyers, 90, of Harrisonburg, died June 13, 2018, at Virginia Mennonite Retirement Community in Harrisonburg, where she had been a resident since December 1999. She was born Dec. 21, 1927, in Broadway, where she grew up on the family farm and was a daughter of the late Daniel H. and Ida Kline Moyers.

    Local ‘Icon’ Remembered

    Charles W. Wampler Jr. died over a year ago, but his memory continues to live on in the Shenandoah Valley. Wampler, one of the founders and first president of the Rockingham County Fair Association, was honored with a monument on the fairgrounds south of Harrisonburg that was dedicated to his legacy during a ceremony held Friday afternoon.
