    Carlos Moreno, 83, Formerly Of Westport

    He lived in Westport and Queens, N.Y., before moving to Bridgeport, retiring from Bloomingdale's in New York City. He is survived by his wife Violeta; his children Carlos Moreno and wife Lauren of Monroe, Liz Moreno, Evelyn Moreno of New York City, Maritza Moreno of Melbourne, Fla., Tesireita R. Venegas of Waverly, N.Y., Dr. Celia M. Moreno Reed, Doris Thornton, Elaine Moreno, and Carlos M. Moreno Jr.; many grandchildren and great-grandchildren; one brother and sister, Rafael Moreno and wife Sonia of Rincon and Milagros Moreno of New York City; and numerous nieces and nephews.

    He is survived by Shirley Stukins Johnson, his wife of 63 years; his children: Jeffrey, and his wife, Ann, of Palos Verdes Estates, Calif., Kaye Liburdi, and her husband, Ottavio, of Monroe, and Mark, and his wife, Amy, of Fairfield; six grandchildren: Matthew and Carley Johnson, Julia and Kristen Liburdi, and Jack and Henry Johnson; and his brother, David M. Johnson, and his wife, Marilyn, of Madison, Wis. Born in Madison to Siphord and Helen Strommen Johnson, he graduated from the University of Wisconsin in 1951 and went on to serve his country in the U.S. Army during the Korean War.

"A highly respected member of the town's management team, Ken served in the Finance Department since December 1999 and as the Town's Controller since December 2008.
