    A beloved Upper East Side doorman who slipped in the snow and fell into a window died because the glass severed his jugular vein, officials confirmed Saturday. An autopsy revealed that 59-year-old Miguel Angel Gonzalez died from "incised wound of neck with injury to the jugular vein," a spokeswoman for the city Medical Examiner said.

    As the Northeast's biggest snowstorm of the season moves toward the Atlantic Ocean, gusty winds could create more drifting snow and travel issues for commuters Friday morning, meteorologists said.     The beloved Upper East Side doorman who died Thursday morning after slipping and falling down steps while shoveling snow was a "humble, very giving" church-going grandfather who loved his family, his devastated step-son told The Post. Rogelio Aponte, 46, said that his relatives are in "shock" after learning how his 59-year-old step-dad Miguel Gonzalez tragically died on the job he worked for more than 35 years.

    Freak snow shoveling accident kills Connecticut man

    Gonzalez, a Bridgeport resident preparing to retire after 30 years as a doorman in Manhattan, died Thursday from injuries suffered during a snow-shoveling accident at work. According to the New York Post, Gonzalez, 59, slipped around 9:30 a.m. and fell down some steps through a window, cutting his neck on the glass.

    Four days after she was shot in the head while siting in a car, a 26-year-old woman died Wednesday afternoon, Bridgeport Police said. Elianna Cruz was shot just after 9 p.m. Saturday at 1001 E. Main St. and was rushed to Bridgeport Hospital, police said.
