    A man who died Thanksgiving Day from crash injuries sustained in a Birmingham interstate shootout was charged with capital murder before his death, and a third suspect also has been charged. Birmingham police on Tuesday announced the capital murder warrants against 25-year-old Tavalues Andarius Johnson.

    Man dies 12 days after shootout, wreck

    Tavaleus Andereus Johnson, 25, died Nov. 22. He was injured Nov. 10 when his vehicle crashed following a shootout on a Birmingham interstate. ( Tavalues Andereus "Ty" Johnson, 25, died Thanksgiving morning at UAB Hospital after spending 12 days in the hospital.

    Both joy and grief were present during a memorial Sunday night honoring a 9-year-old Birmingham girl who took her own life earlier this month. More than 70 people crowded into the Birmingham's Firefighter's Association on Oxmoor Court in Birmingham for the Maddie Foundation Memorial and Awareness Tribute.

    Foul play was not involved in the unrelated deaths of the two women and two men, but their bodies are ready to be released for burial and the Jefferson County Coroner's Office has not been able to find or notify the next of kin. Elizabeth Sue Montgomery, a 34-year-old white female, died Oct. 27 in eastern Birmingham.
