    Pittsfield shooting victim died of gunshot wound to ...

    David Green Jr., the victim of Saturday's fatal shooting in the Morningside neighborhood, died of a gunshot wound to the neck, an autopsy has confirmed. The Berkshire District Attorney's Office, in a statement released on Friday, has officially ruled his death a homicide.

    Carmella C. Scelsi, 91

    Carmella Cecilia Polcaro Scelsi, fondly known as Gigi to many, passed away on November 7, 2018, at the Hospice of the Fisher Home in Amherst. She was 91. Born in Pittsfield, Massachusetts, on November 3, 1927, Gigi was the youngest of four children born to the late Antonio Polcaro and Teresa Santillo Polcaro.

    Mary Elizabeth Saville, 99, formerly of Becket, Mass., passed away October 30, 2018, at Mount Greylock Extended Care Facility. Born on February 6, 1919, the daughter of the late Elmer and Lillian Morrill Jillson, she was a 1937 graduate of Millis High School in Millis, Mass.

    Mrs. Theophilia Helen "Ophie" Richards, 96, of Adams, died Wednesday morning, October 17, 2018, at Sweetbrook Care Center in Williamstown. She was born in Adams on February 18, 1922, a daughter of the late Ludwik and Victoria Kozak and attended Adams schools.

    Two city men charged in Monday's slaying of William Catalano were ordered held without bail today. Bruce D. Romano, 28, and Anthony O. Boone, 22, pleaded not guilty in Central Berkshire District Court on one count of murder in Catalano's death.

    William Catalano was found wounded about 5:30 p.m. Monday on the sidewalk in front of 219 Robbins Ave. in Pittsfield. He died at Berkshire Medical Center a short time later.

    William Catalano was found suffering from multiple injuries, including stab wounds, on Monday in the vicinity of 219 Robbins Ave. He died a short time later. An arrest warrant has also been issued for 20-year-old Jason P. Sefton, of Pittsfield, in connection with the incident.

    Peggy L. Williams, 61

    Peggy Louise Williams passed peacefully on October 15, 2018, following a recent illness. She had fought a brave battle against cancer with much loving and greatly appreciated support from family, friends, colleagues and former students, along with care providers at the BMC Cancer Center, Berkshire Visiting Nurses Association, the 5th floor at Berkshire Medical Center, CVS Pharmacy on West Street, and HospiceCare in the Berkshires.

    Pittsfield man dies after dispute, stabbing

    A city man died Monday evening after being stabbed during a dispute on Robbins Avenue, authorities said. William Catalano, 34, was found suffering multiple injuries - including stab wounds - about 5:30 p.m. on the sidewalk in front of 219 Robbins Ave., according to a statement released by the Berkshire District Attorney's Office.
