    Remembrances are pouring in from friends and former colleagues of Tom Favia, the longtime Ferris High School basketball coach and teachers union chief who died Friday at the age of 87. Favia, who lived in Bayonne, coached Ferris' team for 25 years and was head of the union for two decades. He led the high school's team to five state sectional titles, three county titles and six south Hudson titles.

    Wake slated for Bayonne woman killed on bicycle

    A wake for Marianna Chojnowska, 77, of Bayonne, who was struck and killed Saturday morning while riding her bicycle, will be tomorrow from 5 to 9 p.m. at Dworzanski & Son Funeral Home, 20 E. 22nd St., Bayonne Mass will be Thursday 10 a.m, at St. John Paul II Parish of Our Lady of Mt. Carmel Church, 39 East 22nd St. Chojnowska was riding her bicycle on Avenue C shortly after 7 a.m. when she was struck by a Honda Accord traveling on 27th Street.
