    2 endangered monkeys die from cold temperatures at zoo

    An official says two small endangered monkeys died because a caretaker "overlooked" them and left them out in the cold at a zoo in central Louisiana. The cotton-top tamarins, which weigh less than a pound, were left out in the cold last week at the Alexandria Zoological Park.

    Sheriff's deputies in Rapides Parish arrested a 20-year-old man Friday accused of hit-and-run in the parking lot of Gentleman's Club Sports Bar in Alexandria on Jan. 3. The victim told deputies that he walked into the parking lot at 3:25 a.m. on Jan. 3 to find a vehicle for sale had been hit and sustained a lot of damage, Lt. Tommy Carnline said.

    LSP asking for help in cold case killing

    State Police is asking the public's help to solve a 31-year-old cold case investigation into the death of one of their own. Master Trooper Scott Moreau said investigators in Alexandria reopened the investigation in 2012 into the death of Trooper Clayton Lovell who died under suspicious circumstances in Grant Parish in 1984.
