At about 4:45 p.m. Friday, the Eagle River Fire Protection District was dispatched to a report of a wildland fire in Avon located at the 2500 block of Old Trail Road in the Wildridge.

A firefighter hosed down a still-hot burned area of the Grand Fire in Kern County on Friday.

Two of them broke out Friday. Around one this Friday a fire broke out near southbound Interstate 5 in Castaic.

"They learn exactly who they respond to, who their boss is, what to do and the way the system works," said Jan Amen, Texas A&M Forest Service, PIO.
