No one took his comments out of context. Listening to him, he made it very clear of how he felt. He is now trying to save face. Just listen to his comments and you make your decision. I live in Delaware with an excellent Autistic School, Brennan. My grandson has Aspergers, he is one of the more fortunate ones and very intelligent. These children/adults need to be shown more respect, than having some radio announcer playing doctor and giving his diagnosis. Where is his medical degree. I know for a fact that there are some Austistic children/adults highly intelligent, even the ones who cannot speak. and apparently more so than Savage. They wouldn't be so cruel. Don't you think these parents, have tried all avenues in having a true diagnosis. He needs to get himself more educated. Read Atwood's book or if he can handle it Stillman's book on Autism and the God Connection. But then again he would have some controversary about that. I believe and praise all the parents who have the special angels God has given them. The angels are here to teach us love and compassionate. But there will always be someone you just can't get through to. Bless these angels and their parents.

It's possible that is what he meant to refer to, but it's doubtful because Savage has always been a jerk. His backpedaling is lame at best' to say his words were taken out of context is laughable. He should tell the dam truth the he is guilty of extreme exageration. I believe if he had used ADD as an example he may have been closer to being correct but he would still be guilty of exagerating. But then there would be no controversy and most people would be saying, "Michael who?".

This guy is a "poor man's" Bill O'Reilly who will say outrageous things for the attention and gets away with it because his core audience is just as heartless as he is.

Savage may very well have meant ADD, maybe that's because he suffers from ADD himself

Shame on you! Just like he should not be making such comments regarding Autistic children, you shouldn't be doing it in reference to ADHD kids. It's the same thing. I sometimes deal with more issues with my son than many of the parents of Autistic children that I know. Too many people have the misconception that ADHD is just a matter of not being able to sit still and focus. I would give anything if that was all it was. Nobody should make negative remarks about someone else's challenges without lowering one's self to the same level as this man.

First off, I voulunteer at the special olymipcs, I teach art classes to diasabled children and help my mother in-law at her school- she is a special ed teacher.

How about you try not lowering yourself until you know someons situation...

ADHD is not a mental disorder, they don;t take "special needs" classes, not even comparable to autism, so back off.
