The Rev. Al Sharpton is being investigated for owing back taxes. The AP has uncovered that the civil rights leader owes about $ 1.5 million dollars in overdue tax payments. via ClipSyndicate

I never took reverend Al seriously, he is a charlatan, never saw him in a church pulpit, remember the Tawanaw Brawley case, it was all made up, fooled everyone started a race war. Ummm...he does speaking engagements and such which he is paid royally for. I guess he didn't realize those for instance were very taxable.

If you are in the public eye and irk the wrong person, the IRS will look into your finances.

I'm glad to see he's being investigated. I think this will be just the tip of the iceburg. Hard to tell how much cash he's put in his pocket that can't be tracked. All he does is instigate bad feelings between the races, of course- that's his job.

Reverend Al is a political activist his income does not come from religious or pastoral work. As a Black liberation theologian his is an intellectual Marxist, his income does not come from work in the pulpit, rather from his political activities; therefore it is not exempt from taxes. Pay up, or go to jail.
