Let us hope that Senator Kennedy has not had a stroke. Indeed, it is a
major cause of convulsive seizures and can be therefore a significant predictor of one's future ability to function in a complex occupation, as well of course of one's ability to function in any circumstance. There are many more causes of seizures than those mentioned by the neurologist in the Washington hospital where Kennedy is a patient: those mentioned are the most common, and they are also, unfortunately, the more ominous. Let us hope that Senator Kennedy has nothing as bad as a stroke, and that he recovers fully and resumes his job. He is a remarkable man, brave, brilliant, and most admirable. |
