Topix post leads to clothing drive for kids

Lynette Harris knows what it’s like to struggle to feed and clothe her family.

Shortly before the new school year started last month, Harris said she faced the task of buying school clothes for her four grandchildren, whom she is raising. She came up with a rather unusual idea, using modern technology.

“I posted on Topix (www.topix.com) that my husband would haul junk,” she said. “We were just trying to raise some extra money to buy clothes for the grandkids.”

While they didn’t receive any offers to haul junk away, Harris said she began hearing right away from people who offered to donate clothes to the family.

k now all we need is rubber gloves to serve with and ice we have 8 cakes over 100 cupcakes 25 packs of hotdogs and buns..8 bags of chips...koolaid tea pop..hotdog sauce onions relish ketsup mustard.250plates napkins forks 220 cups.if there is anything else u think of let me know.anyone who is helping set up i will be there by noon.anyone with cloths can bring them after 12..thanks to everyone who has helped..

It went great today thanks to all that helped we came together as a town.and we helped alot of people today.Thanks to everyone that donated.Thanks to Donna Carmen and Casey Co News for the story and to WKDO for putting us on the radio..thanks to allllll that donated...thanks to C-B-T-S-K and the kids who helped today you were all GREAT.. Liberty needs more of this more people need to step up and donate and help the way you guys have- be proud of yourselfs and when you lie down tonight think of how your donations helped and all the helpers think about the smiles and thank yous that you seen and heard today..I know i have a smile and a tear on my face as i tpye this..i wish i could thank each and everyone of you that help and donated face to face right now and give you all a big hug.you know who you are and i don't want to put names on here and some names i don't know so if you helped or donated smile and know how great you are and may GOD BLESS each one of you..love hugs and thanks to you all.....so howsabout a christmas poject?anyone game let me know..706-413two..
