Not Going too Badly here & noticed a few things &

We have a Bunch of Concerns OnGoing over a Year but

Posting Comments about those vs Stories doesn't Quite Cut

it as Well as having a phone contact for Editors as

eg. Picts a Nice idea but they Go by Too Fast & the

Topix Blog post about changes Doesn't Offer Comments & we Don't

Want to repeat emails other Editors already Sent

LOL got a good idea. The 'take it outside' link. Where two contentious posters who lambash each other disrupting the thread or forum, can clik on a little box, and invite each other to 'take it outside'.
There in this cyber world room/link they can don boxing gloves have a ref.and a ring and have at it from round 1 to 10.(L)

At the top of the thread can be a scorecard for others to watch the results of each round as Mad Dog UK slugs it out with Tennesse Mama . Hahahaha, if that is they chose to.

Civil discourse will then be reserved for those with contrary opinions abscent personal insults.

I think you have a fabulous medium here! You have made the world so much smalled as we can all have an over the fence chat with a neighbor that perhaps lives hundreds of miles aways. There are lots of nice neighbors and quite a few contentious ones to. LOL!

M. Musashi, I am inspired by the number of on line copy cats. The great costs and profits are to be made fast and up front. The treads operate like a virus. The garbage quiets as Hollywood gossip, Madison Avenue will propose a 'hook' for sale.
This global forum is limited by a few things, cash being the biggest, followed closely by fear.

The contentious ones are the spice in the meal. Without them, Topix would become like a rather dull & bland private heavily moderated no tolerance forum of which hardly anyone would have an apetite for.

Where are the moderators? On the forum that I post on there are the posters that harass all the time, threaten all the time, slander all the time and post porn all the time! They are either extremely slow or nonexistent and the posters that do want to intelligently debate have to slog through that mess because the moderators are not doing their job! It would be nice if the moderators were more on their job and dealt with all the posters that violate the terms of service more effectively!

a lot of my group writes comedy,and the posting on topix have been the best so far,the science/religious debates have inspired the best script i have ever seen,a lot of things you read hear should never be taken seriously,people need a vent,we live in a fearful time,it is said in law the process of augumentation will reveal the truth, the negative postings have only incited the positive postings.

All moderators currently are employees of Topix. I saw a "Top Mod" post a while back in which he said they were seriously thinking about using volunteer moderators, but there was still a long way to go before all the kinks were worked out of the plan.

I agree. And found myself 'bickering' to. Not my intention when I read the story which elicited a response. Yet, in seeing some of the ulterior motives not reltated to the topic and meanspirited.........it can get your hackles up.

Should be a line in the sand a moderator can draw without it amounting to censorship.

Oh my goodness, that does not sound right as some of these posters do have true agendas that they want to do. I my forum, there is a group of posters that are working hard to ban the posters from the other side and they will lie, slander and cheat to do it! They have been trying to do that with me even though I follow the rules to a Tee.
