Perhaps it may be a means to school teens in the ways of romance, but it'd have to be clarified that not everybody has matinee idol looks, or are as horny as a rhino. Plus, people aren't as scheming, vindictive souls in reality as the characters in those afternoon dramas sre made out to be.
