Dozens of protesting journalists arrested in Sudan
Sudanese authorities arrested dozens of journalists Monday who gathered in front of the parliament building to protest state censorship, said eyewitnesses and those who were detained.
RUPERT Murdoch on Sunday dismissed the suggestion that newspapers are a dying breed, but the global medial mogul said the ideas of some editors and journalists were obsolete in the digital age.

Russian court opens Politkovskaya trial to public
A Russian court ruled Monday that the trial of three men accused of involvement in the slaying of journalist Anna Politkovskaya should be open to the public.
The Moscow District Military Court made the ruling during a preliminary hearing after Politkovskaya's colleagues and the defendants both spoke in favor of an open trial.
Politkovskaya, who was slain in her Moscow apartment building in 2006, reported on human rights abuses in Chechnya, embarrassing the Kremlin.
Prosecutors say the man accused of pulling the trigger, Rustam Makhmudov, has fled the country. The suspects being tried on murder charges are Sergei Khadzhikurbanov _ a former Moscow police officer _ and Makhmudov's brothers, Ibragim and Dzhabrail.
