What is there to be divided about? If a bunch of us run illegally to another country, do you think that other country would spend so much time being "divided" over whether we deserve anything at the expense of their own taxpaying citizens? Get real! The only thing they'd be discussing is how to remove us as quickly as possible, as they should. And it wouldn't matter how hard working we are. If we don't belong there, we have to leave!

There is nothing anyone can say to justify illegal aliens benefiting from a taxpayer subsidized group insurance rate. If our Federal Government allows that to happen, they will essentially be aiding and abetting law breakers and legitimizing their unlawful stay in this country.

Does anybody expect any illegal aliens to pay for what they are already getting for free? If you show up at a hospital and you are not insured, can’t pay in cash and not a legal citizen then ICE should be called immediately.

I don't have the exact Cook County site.In this state Kids Care is one program.Health care no questions asked on residency or status..Tim

School breakfast programs in Chicago Public Schools are the least effective of America’s urban school districts, a research study released Thursday said.

An advocate for the programs said this is unacceptable.

“It upsets me that 407,000 Chicago Public School kids are eating lunch and only 80,000 are eating breakfast,” said Illinois Hunger Coalition Executive Director Diane Doherty.

The study, conducted by the Food Research and Action Center, compares the number of students from low- and moderate income families who eat school-provided lunches with those who eat provided breakfasts.

Only 28.7 percent of eligible students in Chicago schools participate in school breakfast programs as opposed to 88.4 percent of students in Newark, N.J., public schools.

In a companion study that looks at state breakfast programs overall, Illinois ranked last; it has consistently been among the bottom-ranked states.

About 24 schools in the Chicago area take advantage of either universal -- free breakfast for all students -- or reduced-price breakfasts.
