My husband and I make an average salary which does not qualify us for anything free and subsidized but we pay plentiful with nothing in return

I say all illegals should go back home. They take jobs, homes, and money from US born citizens. The woman in the story who wanted to better herself should do so in Mexico. I have worked all my life, now I am disabled and can't work. She collects more in benefits than I do in Social Security. I paid taxes and feel I have a right to that money-I paid into it for years. She did nothing...and gets more than I do???? How much did it cost just to get these statics on the illegals?? At every turn, you see them costing us more and more. Here's a good one; if you speak Spanish now days, you can make more hourly at your job. Any where from 50 cents to a dollar more an hour, just so we can speak to them. Why don't they learn to speak to us?? It's our country!! I also see where they get arrested over and over. Why? With the first arrest, they should be deported back home; let them commit their crimes there, not here!! I could go on and on with stories I have heard and witnessed. All I can say in this limited area is that the illegals have more given to them than I will ever earn. I won't ever have a home of my own, yet they get subsidized housing, or more commonly known as low income housing. I make too much for such a program, yet not enough to live on. When will we get smart and ignore those who can't speak our language...instead of making excuses for them. Either speak our language or get out. I am so tired of this story. I agree with the 200 foot wall topped with barbed wire and glass.

It just goes to show that the majority of the Latin community does not care!! Then you have Latino people getting pissed off when they get called out, but they do this by themselves.

Civic involvement

- Less than a third of Hispanics volunteered for neighborhood or civic groups, compared with 38 percent of blacks and 40 percent of Anglos.

The word "GREAT" pales in comparison to how amazing I find this article to be.
