2 The need to check more than just documents. http://www.doh.wa.gov/Publicat/2008_news/08-0... Tuberculosis cases up 11 percent in Washington "OLYMPIA The tuberculosis rate in Washington took an 11 percent jump in 2007 — a reminder of the health threat posed by the respiratory illness." "In 2007, 291 cases of tuberculosis were reported — up from 262 cases reported in 2006. Of Washington’s 39 counties, 34 had 10 or fewer cases. King County accounted for 161 (55 percent) of all cases reported in our state." We should cut the pay of elected officals until they work for the good of America. |

"He also said both employers and workers are frustrated with federal tactics to target illegal workers without providing alternatives in the form of substantial immigration reform."
========== Frustrated that we're not providing alternatives? There are over 8 legal avenues for immigrants to come into this country. That's plenty of alternatives. If the only 'alternative' acceptable to these illegal alien advocates is a path to citizenship ... screw that. These people should be standing in line behind all those who've applied to come here legally. Enough with the excuses that simply bc they've broken the law to be here, that we should make 'special' accommodations for them to stay. |

"Some 1 million people labor in U.S. fields, an estimated 70 percent of them in the country illegally. U.S. farmers hired only about 77,000 foreign workers through the guest-worker program last year, though that number is expected to rise."
Damn right it's expected to rise when farm growers can no longer hire illegal aliens with impunity and are now feeling pressured by enforcement of the law, being under a microscope on local, State and federal levels, with State taxpayer-funded programs on the line. The pressure is on and it is showing. American taxpayers are paying in the billions for the care of these illegal aliens, the loss of these jobs, affordable housing, medical care, schools overcrowded and dumbed-down, crime and disease on the rise and all the while subsidizing these farms with farms with farm-aid loans, grants and bailouts. Wake up, Americans!... you're paying a hell of a lot more for these fruit and veggies than the damn shelf price! |
