Acidic oceans crank up the volume

The same thing attributed to creating global warming is having an unexpected side effect: a noisier ocean.

"FOCE will give us an opportunity to better assess who will be the winners (?????) and losers in a more acidic future ocean,' said Keith Hester, a researcher with the aquarium's ocean chemistry team."
Good work and thank you, chemist Keith Hester and team!
"That means trouble for ocean life. Increased acidity lowers the pH and results in less carbonate ion available for animals that build shells out of calcium, like corals and shellfish. Smaller animals like algae and planktonic snails face the threat of dissolving completely in the acidic water."...which are at the bottom of ocean's food chain. You know what that means?

Now Keith, would you mind explaining to our county supervisors (and this newspaper?) the chemical/biological life process problems that arise when our fresh groundwater continues to be polluted (worst in the world according to late Marc Reisner/"Cadillac Desert") and lost/expropriated to us permanently while our county supervisors continue their decade long inaction and negligence in protecting our water supply....
as they did again at their meeting on Tuesday...
PUTTING OFF DOING ANYTHING ABOUT IT FOR MAYBE ANOTHER 2 YEARS WAITING FOR "MORE ADEQUATE PROGRESS" TO BE MADE?

Man never has had a respect of oceans or any other water supply or source. If you got one spin it my way, please.

This is an interesting subject, but a very poorly written article. Really -- remarkably bad.

Interesting story but why is the beach by Moss Landing littered with dead birds and dead sea lions? Did the last rain storm do this?

Idiots. Ignorant people used to blame what they did not understand on trolls, fairies and witches. Now we blame everything on CO2. Idiots. No matter how you slice it or dice it CO2 WILL be bad.

NOW CO2 IS CAUSING NOISE POLLUTION! Idiots

Add yet one more thing to the list like sexy chicks digging hot cars to cause global warming at:
http://www.numberwatch.co.uk/warmlist.htm

ps the sexy chicks and hot cars was probably written by neither a sexy chick or someone who can't afford a hot car.

Very funny. From the link:

"Pulling up to the UCSC dock, the groggy but anxious swimmers and their kayaking body guards readied the boats and themselves for what would surely be a long day. The weather predictions all week had warned of stormy seas and frigid water -- the type of day that inspired the making of the 4/3 wetsuit...

UCSC swim coach Kim Musch had scheduled the swimmers for 20-minute shifts. The first would dive in at 6:15 a.m. and they would keep the rotation going as many times as it would take the two relay teams to make it to the Monterey shore....

For an ocean swim, they were strangely underdressed. They brought nothing but their thin nylon and polyester swimsuits and caps a pair of goggles and some glow sticks so the kayakers could spot them in the dark waves...

Coach Musch's warnings about hypothermia and a guide of what to do when it happens suddenly brought to life a realistic threat..."

And yet another example of horrid writing. Is this paper now run as a Cabrillo externship program?
