Gee, I have always wanted to visit Australia. I guess now I will give it a pass since we have enough bigots here!

Australia, I think very much less of you now. And by the way, I am straight!

go on a safari in South Africa instead...marriage-equality is the law of the land there, and their economy could use the help better than the Aussies. Cape Town is very gay friendly and beautiful too.

What a load of bullshit, straight out of a homosexual propaganda site and not a word of truth in it. You dickhead, we have legal recognised same sex unions in every state, just the same as everyone else is entitled to if you're not a dead shit religious nutter.

Some idiot homo's demand church weddings, even though the churches declare their marriages are between a man and a women only. To me that's fine, who'd want to get married in a place of depravity called a church. But you have drop kicks in every aspect of society, so these idiots want to force their way into somewhere they are not wanted and cause trouble, no different to religious morons who always try to force their way into other peoples lives and change them.

I bet you're about as straight as a ball of string.

Right decision by me too. They can leave their lives as they want but when it comes to legalisation of their marriages, mate, we wouldn't like to go that crazy.

Your last sentence was intended to be jovial, or derogatory? Please clarify, as many readers will then form an opinion of your comments based on your bias and possible bigotry.

Negative dipsticks would take it in a negative way, so you make up your own mind, or are you one of those wankers who grovel in negativity and look for anything to bleat about.

Since you are obviously - and I mean this sincerely - a person of some intelligence, can you explain to me what is different in Australia between marriage and civil-union besides the name? Do people in civil unions have adoption rights and completely equal tax and estate treatment? If so, then you are correct, such a struggle is a waste of energy. If not then the protesters have good reason.

So let's say somebody wants to marry their favourite farm animal. As yet uncharted legal territory, ain't it? Although there are precedents for estate bequeathment to dogs and cats where an executor/attorney has been appointed, I see strong resistance from society for instituting such marriages.

Lesbians do indeed get AIDS but they are more prone to die from Hair-ball-itis.

Ahh, those are 2 possible strategies for low-life lezsbos to avoid the dreaded Hair-ball-itis, but abstinence is still the best policy...afterall, women should conjugate with men and not with other women.

The article says crowds of people have gathered to call for marriage equality. How do you get bigotry from that?

Civil unions in Aus come with the same protections as marriage, any cohabiting relationship in Aus after a certain period, about 2 years, comes with just about the same rights as well. As for adoption that varies from state to state, personally I am against same sex relationship adoption, just as I am against single people adopting children because I believe children need a balanced upbringing received by both sexes. No matter what anyone says, nothing replaces a live in balanced upbringing. I see single parenting as a looming sociological disaster and that is slowly being borne out.

I couldn't give stuff about a persons sexuality and understand where they are coming from. It's when they try to impose their ideological bullshit on me that I object. So I don't get on with poofters and dykes, but have no problem with the homosexuals I've worked and socialised with.
