What can you expect from a state where their best attempt at a state slogan in "Oklahoma is OK"? It's not "great", it's not "good", it's just "OK". Imagine how many months of meetings and tax-payer dollars it took for them to come up with that!!!

Gay pride month probably generated revenue.

Allowing gay to get married would help the economy.

This woman is talking out her bigoted rear, and will not get re-elected.

"Scapegoating" has been around as long as scapegoatable people have. One would think reasonable people would have figured these politicians out by now. We hear what we want to hear. What surprises me is how little the world changes.

Her view really isn't all that shocking... she just misses that 15 minutes of fame she had when she spoke the first time and she just wants to get some of that back.

I don't know. With all the boycotts going on against companies like Pepsi, McDonald's, and Safeway for supporting the gay agenda and gay pride month, I suspect the economy is being hurt. Though, come to think of it, Coke, Wendy's and other grocery stores have probably picked up the business. I'm not entirely sure how she is drawing her conclusions, but I believe gay pride and so-called same-sex marriage is hurting our country's morale. It certainly is hurting mine. At the very least, when lots bigger problems loom, it is disgusting that same-sex marriage gets any attention at all from our politicians. That attention should be used to address more pressing problems that effect far more people.

On the plus side, maybe the boycotts of McDonald's and Pepsi are causing people to lose a few pounds, a much needed improvement.

I found it interesting that website after website posted by gay people showed only the parts of the proclamation that pertained to them. I went searching for the whole proclamation, and what do you know, there's a lot more to it that has nothing to do with gays. More of the self-centered attitudes of gay people, I guess.

"self-centered attitudes"!!! Damn right!! You have your rights to "life, liberty, and pursuit of happiness" taken away, you have your home and enployment jeopardized, you have the constant threat of verbal and physical abuse and see how self-centered you become!!

First off, if you're letting what other people do in their personal lives hurt your morale, I would suggest you seek some psycho-therapy. That's nuts. It's none of your business.

Next, if it was YOU that was being denied equal treatment in your own country, you might not think it was no big deal. That's easy to say when you're getting all benefits.

I agree with you 100% on marriage equality not being worthy of all the attention it's getting. But you can blame people like Sally Kern for marriage equality being such an issue. If they weren't so hell-bent on denying equal rights to people they don't like, this whole thing would have been solved years ago.

Um, sure, especially considering FORD was on your boycott list and is one of the only Automakers to reject the Bailout...sounds like your boycotts aren't doing squat.

No it's only hurting the morale of the bigots.

No the disgusting thing would be listening to homophobic bigots yet again try to downplay others rights and concerns.

Civil Rights affect everyone.

If you're worried about losing 20 pounds of ugly fat, why not just cut off your own head?

Out in Folklahoma I guess they don't like history books much..."the rich Christian heritage upon which this nation was built" seems to be quite an interesting concept, since the people that first came here and later "founded" the nation were not Christian but primarily deists and were fleeing (of all things ironically) religious persecution by Christians. Nice bit of revisionist history Silly. Typical lying Christian...
